With funeral costs rising far in excess of the annual rate of inflation, it is an unfortunate fact that, for so many families, budgeting for a funeral by traditional means may no longer be sufficient to cover the cost.
According to the Sun Life Cost of Dying Report 2013, avarage funeral costs have risen from £1,230 in 1997 to £4000 today - an increase of over 225%. Conservative estimates suggest that by 2024, a funeral will cost on average, between £7,000 and £8,000.
The Last Resort GUARANTEES that however long you live, and however expensive a funeral is when you pass away, there will always be sufficient funds to cover all the funeral directors fees and services.

The Topaz plan is a most affordable plan option. It includes all the funeral director's fees and services, a standard, veneered, coffin, a hearse and bearers, but excludes 3rd Party Charges.

What's included in the 'Your Simplest' Funeral Plan?
◦ Care and preparation of the deceased
◦ A simple, veneered, coffin with nameplate
◦ A funeral hearse plus bearers
◦ 24 hour transfer of the deceased to funeral home/chapel of rest (within 20 miles*)
◦ Organising the service at the crematorium
◦ Family support and guidance provided by the funeral director
Notes:
• Cremation takes place Monday to Friday, before 10am
• Cremation only (cannot be adapted for burial)
• No viewing of the deceased at the funeral director’s chapel of rest
• No limousine(s) included with this plan. (A limousine can be requested at additional cost)
• Funeral procession travels from the chapel of rest directly to the crematorium (not via relatives’ homes)
• Cremation takes place at any crematorium of the funeral director’s choosing, within a 30 mile radius of the chapel of rest
• Funeral director is selected at the complete discretion of Safe Hands Funeral Plans

Here at The Last Resort, we understand that not everyone wants an extravagant or all-inclusive funeral. To many, when life's course is run, there seems little sense is spending heavily on what will be their final journey.
In response to this, The Last Resort is unique in that we also offer a very simple funeral plan that includes all the essential elements of a cremation, but without any superfluous elements.
What's included in the Direct Cremation Plan?
• Collection of the deceased
• Care of the deceased
• Basic coffin (crematorium approved)
• Transport of the deceased to the crematorium
• Cremation fees
• Doctor’s Fees
Direct Cremation Plan Price: £ 1,895
The Direct Cremation plan does not include a service, flowers, cortege, or any other extraneous elements. We will notify the relatives and friends of the time and date of the cremation, but there will be no service or provision for mourners to attend.
This plan cannot be tailored, modified or added to at any time, it is designed for the client who wishes to attain the most affordable cremation.
